From its beginning, the foundation for the Christian Periodical Index has been a broad base of volunteer indexers. In addition to indexing current issues, indexers contribute indexing for older journal titles that will bring full indexing back to 1956 for all titles. Indexing is a valued form of service to ACL, and the Barbara K. Nelson Christian Periodical Indexer of the Year award recognizes individuals for their dedication to CPI.
